Common Core Curriculum has me stumped...constantly!
I don't consider myself ignorant nor uneducated when it comes to mathematics, but assisting my 10 year old daughter each evening makes me feel down right stupid. Common core curriculum was introduced to our public schools a few years ago, and I have yet to master the methods required to solve what should be simple mathematics problems. I found some great examples of complicating simple problems at http://www.nationalreview.com/article/373840/ten-dumbest-common-core-problems-alec-torres, and I thought you might be interested to see what our children have to deal with in the mathematical world of public schools these days.
The following is an example of what should be a very simple addition problem, but as you can see, children are instead asked to put extra steps in order to solve it.
Even subtraction is made more complicated by Commom Core curriculum because children are expected to do multiple steps just to solve a simple problem.
I found the following letter and cheat sheet quite humorous, other than this is a reality for our kids. I'm not sure how far I would have gotten in math if I were held to these ridiculous standards of solving problems.

Without getting too much into politics, I am very hopeful that our new United States President Trump will get rid of these expectations so our children can solve problems without complicating them further.

Testimonials from SFI
I can't say enough about how happy I am to have found SFI when I did. With almost a year into the program, I can't imagine where I would be if I hadn't started when I did, and devoted my attention to this great opportunity.
I'm not the only one that thinks SFI is great. Check out the testimonials of others that have also taken advantage of this great program.

What is Affiliate Marketing?
Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways to earn money online, with the potential to earn residual income. The concept of affiliate marketing is to build a team, also called a down line, that will likewise build their own team, and all involved will be promoting the sale of products, with commissions being paid when a sale is made by those promotions. Each affiliate will receive a number, and that number will be embedded in all products that you promote, so if a sale is made on those products, you will be credited with the sale and earn whatever percentage is laid out in the commission plan.
With so many different affiliate programs available, you really need to be careful in joining any of them without doing your research first. Many of these programs will ask you to pay a fee up front to join, or they will require a monthly fee in order to stay active and eligible to receive commissions.
I personally would never sign up for a program that required me to pay to become a member, or to be eligible for commissions on sales that I assisted with.
When joining an affiliate marketing group, the goal is usually to start your own business, be your own boss, and earn some extra money.
Starting a business may require an investment of money at some point in order to make it successful, but I am a firm believer in using what I have available to me before turning to monetary investments. Personally, I don't have money that I am willing to part with currently. In the meantime, I dedicate my time and energy to building a great foundation, and when I feel that I have reached my initial goals, I will gladly invest my money to boost my business even further.
Affiliate marketing is not a "Get rich quick" type of business. Each person will move at a different success rate, where some may succeed in a matter of six months, while others could take five years before they see the kind of income that they desire. The income depends solely upon the individual, and how much work they are willing to put into building their business.
If you want to earn a second income or start an online business, I have the perfect opportunity for you. It is FREE to join, and no investment is EVER required.

Let Nothing Hold You Back
Life is full of obstacles, and the outcome of the situation is a direct result of the way you chose to handle things. Just as the saying goes, "Is the glass half full, or half empty?", your mindset can have a huge impact on your overall success, or failure. If you wake up every morning and tell yourself that you are going to have a terrible day, what do you think the outcome for that day will likely be? On the other hand, if you tell yourself that it is going to be a great day, although obstacles will still get in your way, you are likely to have a better day because you have accepted the journey as part of life, and you are unwilling to let things get you down.
I believe that having a daily routine will assist you in becoming who you want to be, as well as boost your success in all that you do. Routines will vary from person to person, but I believe reading a few motivational passages, praying or meditating, eating a nutritional breakfast, and exercising to get your heart pumping will serve you well throughout the day.
Avoid procrastination at all costs. Putting off just one task for a day, can cause havoc for your whole week, or even the entire month.
While schedules are great for keeping us on track, don't let distractions and unforeseen activities ruin your day. Learn to roll with the unknown, and rise above the challenges facing you. Let nothing hold you back from your dreams, and your success in all that you do.

Top 10 Qualities of a Successful Person
Let's admit it, we all want to be successful in some way or another. Success may mean something different to each individual, but the qualities required for success seem to change.
- Have a goal in mind, and work consistently to reach that goal.
- Believe in yourself, even if nobody else does.
- Make a plan for success, and follow it the best you can.
- Use your time wisely, and track what works best for you, and then stick with it.
- Learn something new every day, because the more you learn, the more valuable you are, and the more you can earn.
- Invest in yourself, using self improvement tactics to make your mind and body healthier.
- Never forgot what it is like to be at the bottom of the totem pole. Always give credit to those that helped you get where you are today.
- See the positive in all circumstances, even when it is difficult. It could always be worse than you have it, and many others are in a worse spot than you are.
- Always look for ways to improve.
- Wake up early in the morning so you have the entire day to focus on building your success.
I hope this list gives you some idea of the mindset and habits you will need to become successful. Have a great day, and NEVER give up your dream.

So much fun!
Every day I log into my SFI affiliate center, and I am faced with multiple ways to earn money that day, and many of them involve playing games to see how high of a score I can get. This is such a nice break from the constant activities of building a business, and it allows me some time to let my brain shut down for a bit and prepare myself for more work afterwards.
As funny as it may sound, I didn't start a business just to make lots of money. I started a business online because I wanted to do something to make a difference, and pass along everything that I learn to others that could also use a change.
Although I don't make a ton of money every month, I am profiting each month, and I do limited work for what I receive. The business I am referring to is not a "Get rick quick scheme", and it does take your time and effort in order to build it up, which is exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking to start something that you can build up to be successful, join my team at

Reduce your spending
With so many families
struggling to make a living these days, I wanted to make up a list of
some helpful hints to budgeting, and saving money that we don't even
necessarily realize we are spending. Trust me, I am no genius with
finances, but I do my best to provide what I can for my family,
within our budget. It isn't always easy, and some weeks are tougher
than others to accomplish the ultimate goal of making it until the
next payday, the next month, or fulfilling a dream in the next year.
Many different factors go into a personal budget, and many depend on
what you believe to take priority over other expenses.
I'm going to start by
asking you a couple of personal questions. I just want you to think
about your answers while you read through, and when you decide to
start a personal budget, see what has priority for you then.
- How many times per week do you go out to eat, including lunches at work?
- Do you regularly buy a soda or an energy drink to keep you going throughout the day?
- Do you stop for coffee in the morning on your way to work, or do you make a pot at home and take it with you?
- Do you buy lottery tickets?
- Do you use alcohol or tobacco products?
- Are there features of your cable, Internet, or cell phone bills that could be reduced?
- How many times per week do you run to the store for items that you need?
- Do you pay somebody else to perform duties that you could be doing yourself?
We all have our own ideas
of what we “Need” to spend our money on, and it may be completely
different from person to person. That's okay, but if you are looking
to save money, or looking to have more money to pay necessary bills,
you need to take a close look at how you are spending what you make
now. I use an online banking app for our checking account that has
payroll direct deposit every week, and I was shocked at the amount of
money that my family spent on unnecessary purchases.
I fill the gas tank of my
truck every week, so it has a full tank for the following work week,
and yet when looking through my bank statement, I noticed multiple
charges, sometimes as many as three per day, coming from our local
convenient store/gas station. I am guilty of purchases made here
almost daily, to grab a soda or an energy drink, and when kids are
with me, they usually end up grabbing a snack as well. It doesn't
seem like it would make a huge difference in our budget, but when the
average purchases are $5, and some are multiple times per day, that
adds up rather quickly.
Another problem area that
I recognized was taking the kids to a fast food restaurant to grab a
quick meal while we're on the go during the week. I noticed that
usually one week day, and one weekend day, there are charges of at
least $20 spent at various fast food restaurants. Although convenient
at the time, it is costing my family a considerable amount of money
each month that could be applied to bills, or savings.
The biggest shock for me
this past month was receiving my electric bill. The bill had doubled,
with having house guests for a couple of weeks last month, and the
fact that we run an electric heater in our bedroom that has no heat
register. Since discovering the $400 bill, I have been on a mission
to get my family on board with turning lights off, shutting off
televisions and game consoles when not in use, and I've even
scheduled certain days to do laundry so my machines aren't running
non-stop all week long. I'm setting a time limit for showers that use
the hot water, and we're limiting the use of the electric heater to
only nights that get extremely cold. I went a step further and turned
the furnace down by three degrees, and I am insisting that if someone
gets chilly, they put on a sweatshirt or cover up with a throw
blanket while sitting watching television.
My newest challenge for my
family started the first Friday of 2017, and that is to put away $10
in an envelope every week, and not touch it until it is time to shop
for Christmas in 2017. Every year, the Christmas season hits our
budget hard, and I decided to change that for this coming year. At
$10 per week, I won't likely miss that amount of money, and if I
stick with less spending throughout the year, I will still have
enough to pay our bills, and by Christmas 2017, I will have $500 cash
to spend on my family members.
Although I only live less
than five miles from town, I have started making a list of items that
I need from the store, and I plan on going to town once a week for
necessary items, rather than running to the store every time I
realize that I wanted to pick something up. My plan is that this will
save drastically on gas for our vehicle, because there were weeks
that I was making a special trip into town every day, just to grab
something that I wanted or needed from the store.
Upon looking over my
cable/Internet bill recently, I discovered that I could save almost
$30 per month, by dropping our package down to a few less channels
that we don't watch anyway, so it is a win/win for my budget as well.
I couldn't live without my
cell phone, but signing up for a contract was not for me. I have
pre-paid cell phone service that gives me unlimited everything, and I
never pay over $50 per month for this service. If I didn't need a
smart phone to help me run my business, I would drop my service down
even further, and only use my cell phone when I absolutely had to,
but I consider part of the bill a business expense, and my business
profits cover the entire bill each month.
I strongly suggest you
take a look at where you spend your money, and what items you can
eliminate, or reduce, to give you more money to pay necessary bills,
or to put in savings. We all have some things that we can change,
even when you are living paycheck to paycheck.

2017, I'm ready!
As we bring in 2017, I have more determination than I had before the new year. I have decided to dedicate my efforts strictly to making a living online, and passing on anything that I can to make others lives' better, so they can also make enough money online to be sitting comfortably.
I started making money online in March 2016, and although no where near what I would like to earn, I am well aware that it takes time and lots of effort to create a business, and be successful in doing so.
Along with my affiliate marketing business, I also have a couple of blog sites, and two other websites to promote my opportunity, and to pass on what I am learning in the process. Too many times, I think people learn how to get around things online in order to become successful, and for some reason, they believe that if they share their techniques, it will take away from their own income. I totally disagree with this way of thinking, as millions of individuals buy products or services online, and the numbers increase every day.
I am ready to make it big in 2017, and I want to bring as many people as I can with me. If you are ready to start exploring making legit money at home, please check out my link at:
